Membership

A. Eligibility conditions for obtaining Membership of the Company:
1. An individual Producer, who is engaged in production of milk from milch animals owned by him/her and responsible for the care and management of cow(s) and buffalo(es).
2. No person, who has any business interest which is in conflict with business of the Company, shall become a Member of the Company.
3. Membership is limited to only one milk producer from each household.
4. A milk producer desirous of becoming a Member of the Company shall have to apply in prescribed application form to the Company (when the Membership Drive is open) and undertake in writing to abide by the provisions of the Memorandum & the Articles of Association of the Company. Further, he will pay a non-refundable admission fee of Rs.100/-. The admission fee for a women is Rs. 50/-. He/she has to subscribe for at least five equity shares of Rs.100/- each. The Producer shall agree to the following in writing:
 
a) To pour milk for at least 200 days in a year and supply a minimum of 500 litres of milk annually;
b) To subscribe for additional shares matching the annual quantity of milk supplied (calculated at the rate of Rs.1/- for every litre of annual quantity of milk supplied);
5. To undertake to supply good quality milk according to the quality standards laid down by the Company from time to time.
6. The total milk supplied to the Company during the winter months namely November to February shall not exceed three times the milk supplied during the summer months namely April to July in a financial year.
7. To undertake not to engage in trading of milk other than own produce.
8. The effective date of membership shall be from the date on which membership is approved by the Board.
9. Such other conditions as may be prescribed by the Board from time to time.
B. Conditions for continuation of Membership:
1. Membership shall continue as long as a Member does not fail to meet the following criteria:-
 
a) The member is engaged in production of milk from milch animals owned by him and responsible for the care and management of cow(s) and buffalo(es). The member is not indulging in an act which is detrimental to the functioning of the Company as also to the interest of the Company.
b) The member has supplied milk for at least 200 days during the previous financial year and poured a minimum of 500 litres of milk annually.
c) The member has subscribed for shares matching the annual quantity of milk supplied.
d) The total milk supplied to the Company during the winter months namely November to February shall not exceed three times the milk supplied during the summer months namely April to July during the previous financial year.
e) The milk supplied by the member has met all the quality standards as stipulated by the Company from time to time.
f) However, those members who have enrolled themselves with less than 200 days remaining during the previous financial year will be exempted from the above conditions during the year except the conditions a & e.
g) Such other conditions as may be prescribed by the Board from time to time.
C.The criteria for categorizing members into different classes:

*Note – Those members who have poured milk quantity more than 2000 liters but with a supply days ranging from 200 to 269 days shall be categorised as ‘Class C’ members.
For the purpose of patronage calculation, the following shall be considered:
(i) Members who have been admitted during the previous financial year and have not yet completed 365 days of their membership but have subscribed the minimum required share capital for the class chosen by them shall be considered to belong to that class.
(ii) Any member who will not meet the criteria under Class A or Class B may slide to a lower Class i.e. class B or Class C based on the criteria which they fulfill.
(iii) Those members who are not fulfilling the required criteria to retain at least ‘Class C’ will be issued notice for cancellation of membership as per the provisions of Article 4.3 read with Article 8 of the Articles of Association of the Company.
